INFOS FOR PARTICIPANTS

MONDAY 30 MAY
18.30 - Museo della fabbrica - Benedectine Monastery
L'Opera dei Pupi and Riccardo III
The puppet theatre known as the Opera dei Pupi emerged in Sicily at the beginning of the nineteenth century, and was based on medieval chilvalric literature and other sources, such as Italian stories of the Italian Renaissance, the lives of saints and tales of notorious bandits.

Today it is on the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and is appreciated by a larger - even international - audience. The Napoli Brothers' Riccardo III will show that more and more authors from the Italian and European tradition are being included in the top companies' modern, contemporary repertoires.

A detailed synopsis of the show and of its main scenes will be given to all participants.
